The takeaway

56% of surveyed executives said trust must be designed in.

In our survey of senior automotive clients, 56% said trust would need to be designed into AI interactions from the start, including clear labelling. Just 5% thought customers would be uncomfortable with AI.

Whose views are these?

We asked senior client executives anonymously about their companies’ approach to AI. The results describe those respondents’ views of customer needs. They should not be presented as percentages of consumers.

Sophus3 works with more than 25 major automotive brands in Europe, but that company reach is not the survey sample size. The original post did not give a respondent count.

Put transparency into the experience

A useful implication is to make it clear when an interaction involves AI, rather than leaving customers to guess. Teams should consider what happens when an answer is uncertain or a customer needs human help. These are practical design questions, not additional survey findings.

The survey formed part of our 25 June webinar. Read the recap for the wider discussion of AI performance and organisational readiness.
